Enforcement Of Compulsory Standards For Paints For Toys

- Jan 10, 2019 -

Compulsory standard for toy coatings "Limits of harmful substances in toy coatings GB24613-2009" is implemented. The standard specifies five kinds of harmful substances in children's toy coatings, including total lead content less than 600 mg/kg, volatile organic compounds (VOC) less than 720 g/L, benzene content less than 0.3%, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene less than 0.3%, and eight soluble elements and six types of phthalates.

Toy coatings, as toy materials directly used to contact children, have been the focus of attention in developed countries such as Europe and the United States in recent years, and corresponding standards and regulations have been introduced. Compared with the relevant regulations of European and American countries, the limitation requirements of Toy Coatings Hazardous Substances Limit implemented in our country are basically consistent with the foreign standards, and the restriction items are more comprehensive.
